From July 4 to 6, 2018, the "Fragrant Harbor City" - 2018 Ningbo Economic and Trade Culture Week was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event was hosted by the Ningbo Municipal Government, with services including event planning and implementation, stage design and construction, process coordination, and reception.

The Culture Week featured an opening ceremony and an exhibition on the achievements of 40 years of reform and opening-up, showcasing Ningbo's development through promotional videos, art, and photography exhibitions. It also presented Ningbo's folk crafts to display the city's long and splendid historical and cultural traditions. Additionally, the event included promotions for investment, talent recruitment, and tourism cooperation, leveraging Hong Kong's international platform to introduce Ningbo's investment environment, talent policies, and tourism industry projects. Key highlights included Ningbo's development strategies, major platforms, policy measures, and innovation and entrepreneurship environment. The event also aimed to establish medium- and long-term cooperative relationships with Hong Kong SAR government departments, industry enterprises, and professionals, and to discuss potential projects.

The opening ceremony on the morning of July 4 was attended by nearly 400 people, including representatives from central government agencies in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong SAR government, the business community, education and technology sectors, fellow townsmen associations, human resources and tourism professionals, as well as leaders from Zhejiang Province and Ningbo City.

The exhibition displayed 21 oil paintings, 50 photographs, and 11 fine folk craft works, all selected as outstanding pieces from Ningbo's diverse artistic genres. The works featured distinct themes, elegant styles, and varied forms, showcasing the profound cultural heritage and unique charm of Ningbo, and highlighting the city's image of economic development, social harmony, cultural prosperity, ecological livability, and openness.

Ningbo is one of China's first coastal open cities, a sub-provincial city with independent planning status, and a national historical and cultural city. It boasts a rich cultural and historical tradition, unique port resources, and an open and inclusive international business environment, earning the reputation of "Books in ancient times, ports connecting the world." Hong Kong is a major gathering place for overseas Ningbo businessmen and a key node city in the national "Belt and Road" initiative.
