This afternoon, the Shandong Export Commodities (Thailand) Cloud Exhibition, hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, was held in Jinan.

As the international pandemic continues to spread, international exchanges and cooperation, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises and foreign trade companies, have been severely impacted. Lv Wei, Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, stated that due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, we could not meet as scheduled, but by using the internet and video conferencing platforms, we have shifted the Thailand exhibition from offline to online. This is a beneficial attempt to innovate the economic and trade cooperation model between Shandong and Thailand.

This "cloud exhibition" is held in two sessions, covering products such as food and agricultural products, agricultural machinery, daily necessities, and epidemic prevention supplies. A total of 33 Thai buyers and 86 Shandong enterprises are participating, with over 120 "one-on-one" negotiation sessions arranged through preliminary matching.

Montri Pongpan, Chairman of the Asian International Trade and Investment Association, said that Shandong is not only a populous province in China but also a major agricultural and export province. They have held multiple matchmaking events with the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce in Thailand, and Shandong's products are well received by Thai enterprises and consumers. They expect a strong rebound in Thai consumer spending after the pandemic and urge seizing the opportunity to purchase quality products at reasonable prices.

For this "cloud exhibition," the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, together with Shandong Branch of China Construction Bank, provided value-added services such as online digital booths and live streaming displays for participating enterprises. It is hoped that Chinese and Thai enterprises will seize the opportunity, fully connect, reach cooperation, gain friendship, achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, and promote the steady and long-term development of Shandong-Thailand economic and trade cooperation.

Feng Ruchen, Senior Deputy Manager of China Construction Bank Shandong Branch, stated that in the future, the bank will continue to support foreign trade enterprises in expanding markets, securing orders, and maintaining stable development with financial technology, fulfilling the responsibility of a major bank and playing an important role in "stabilizing foreign trade."

It is understood that the China Shandong Brand Agricultural Products (Thailand) Exhibition is planned to be held from September 22 to 26 at the Bangkok Convention and Exhibition Center in Thailand. This "cloud exhibition" will promote a good start for this year's economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Thailand.
