The 2021 Art Basel fair in Basel was successfully held from September 24 to 26. Marc Spiegler, Global Director of Art Basel, shared highlights of this edition, including the "Parcours" sculpture trail across the city and the "Unlimited" section featuring 62 large-scale installations and sculptures.

This year's Basel fair attracted over 200 galleries from 33 countries, exhibited in the Features, Edition, Galleries, and Statements sectors. Among them, 24 galleries participated for the first time, accounting for one-tenth of the total exhibitors. These new galleries brought works with a stronger focus on art historical material, including Mignoni from New York, Ben Brown from London and Hong Kong, and Cardi from Milan. Additionally, some of the 24 new galleries focused on contemporary art, such as Bodega and Company from New York, Emalin from London, and Isla Flotante from Buenos Aires.

Similar to this year's Art Basel Hong Kong, the Basel fair was a hybrid event, featuring both online and physical booths. The fair also offered shared booths for two or more galleries, as well as "satellite booths" that allowed gallery owners and staff unable to attend in person to connect with collectors worldwide via tablets at the booths.
