On October 19, 2021, the 7th Global Ultra-Broadband Forum (UBBF 2021) opened in Dubai. Co-hosted by the UN Broadband Commission and Huawei, the forum is the largest global summit in the fixed network field. This year, under the theme "Connectivity+, New Growth," it brought together leading equipment vendors and operators worldwide to discuss topics such as regional digital economy, expanding industry growth space, network infrastructure construction, and successful application of solutions, as well as to share case studies and advance business cooperation.

This year's UBBF lasted two days, featuring multiple keynote speeches on fixed networks and parallel sessions held simultaneously. Professionals from academia, enterprises, operators, and governments engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges, sharing successful cases and their perspectives on the current state of ultra-broadband network development and the new challenges it faces.
In 2014, to promote the sustainable development of the global ultra-broadband fixed network industry, Huawei, together with the Broadband Commission (jointly established by UNESCO and the ITU) and representative regional operators, initiated the first Global Ultra-Broadband Forum. The aim was to build a high-level dialogue platform focused on ultra-broadband, cross-sector cooperation, experience sharing, and joint development, to maximize the potential of ultra-broadband and achieve benefits for content providers, consumers, and operators alike.

To date, UBBF has been held seven consecutive times and has become a bellwether for the ultra-broadband industry, leading the development of the global fixed network sector.
