At the meeting, Sun Ying, Director of the Provincial Department of Tourism and Culture, presented the new image and new products of Hainan's tourism in the context of the free trade zone (port), and revealed the good news that the direct flights from Sanya to Berlin, Frankfurt Hahn and Dusseldorf are scheduled to open in March next year. At the meeting, Chen Jianyang, the cultural public counselor of the Embassy in Germany, also emphasized Hainan's unique geographical environment and historical and cultural heritage, and highly appraised Hainan's tremendous efforts to develop international tourism island and build multi-land, sea and air interconnection.

Hainan Sanya Haolide Travel Agency signed strategic cooperation agreements with Turkey's Onur Airlines and German tourism group FTI Touristik on the opening of Sanya = Berlin, Frankfurt Hahn and Dusseldorf routes, respectively, and on strengthening tourism cooperation. Germany is Hainan's second largest tourist country in Europe. It is understood that, on the basis of the existing route from Sanya to London, the Provincial Office of Tourism and Culture plans to further exploit the local tourist market by taking advantage of Germany's status as the largest source country of outbound tourists in Europe and devote itself to improving the attendance rate of international tourists in Luqiong.
